ASBURY PARK MUSIC FOUNDATION
In 2011 Susan rallied her committee to bring the Smithsonian Institute's
traveling music museum, New Harmonies, to Asbury Park.
As an added coup, Asbury Park was the first-in-the-nation destination for this exhibit.
Concurrent with establishing this new foundation, Susan wrote, produced and directed the feature length film, Music is My Soul: Asbury Park 1930s - 1970s. A collaboration between Synergy Productions, and students of Asbury Park High School and Monmouth University, the documentary chronicles numerous artistic and social experiences of Asbury Park musicians from the 1930's to 1970's.
Granted $100,000 from Bruce Springsteen
through Monmouth Arts to open
Where Music Lives Gallery & Performance Space.
Branded the organization including
"Asbury Park: Where Music Lives."
Curated and supervised exhibits and performances
at Where Music Lives
Created the Youth Music Initiative including
the Artist in Residence Program,
Sound Healing Classes and Sound Recording Classes.
Gave a TED Talk about Asbury Park's musical history.
